New Yawkers Think They Are Multi-lingual ...

FLOWERS FOR PETER STEELE

Every once in a while someone tags me in FB or
sends pictures to the blog email that SAY IT ALL
This beauty is from Mary Wolfe
who is graciously allowing me to post on the blog.

Good Short Video from 1994
Love the way Peter fakes his way through speaking Russian
Thanks to Jayne Keegan for posting on FB

Peter always loved the phrase,
"New Yawkers think they are multi-lingual
because they can curse you out  in every language."

  2. I love that video, every time I watch it I start laughing and can´t stop until maybe 10 minutes after. Once I asked my exhusband what Peter really said (the fakerussian) and my ex who learned russian in high school just said that it sounds like russian but it´s not. :) When he said that I started laughing again, because then the joke was on everyone trying to figure out what Peter said and on Peter for talking fakerussian.
The firsth frase. " Dasvedanja" are russian for "see you later", but I guess most people know that.
    The picture is absolutely beautiful.
The phrase is truly wonderful, I have never been to New York but I guess it is true.

  3. Thx for sharing this beautiful pic of Peter by Mary Wolfe - beside the beautiful pic of Pete I love the writing in green & black and the nature elements added to the pic. One can truly feel the love & grief of Mary when looking at it ... Yes Darcie - it says it all
Thank you also for posting this great video - it's hilarious ;-)
The phrase 'New Yawkers think they are ...' is great - could be applied also on Vienna ;-) most people here would know some bad words in Polish, Slovakian, Turkish etc. but if you start to talk to them in French for example most of them will just look at you like *WTF?* :-)
    @all - have a great weekend
    Much love & respect

  4. I love this blog for posts just like this one. I'll have some question about Peter or Type O Negative and then...as if by magic...it gets answered here. I had been wondering for a long time what Peter was saying in that clip. LOL he is so convincing. What a trip!

  5. OHHHHH WOWWWW!! SOME DAY I WISH TO MAKE IT TO NEW YORK. I HAVE WANTED TO COME THERE SINCE I WAS A LIL GIRL AND IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY IT WAS THE 1977 STUFF IN THE NEWS THAT GOT MY ATTENTION TO WANT TO COME THERE!! ALL OF THE FIRES AND THE WAY LIFE WAS FOR NY BACK THEN. THAT ATTRACTED ME. I HOPE TO GET THERE ONE DAY. THERE IS A FAMILY THAT I WOULD LOOOOOOOVE TO MEET AND THERE IS A MAN I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT.

THANK YOU FOR USING MY PICTURE. THATS PRETTY COOL. AND THE VIDEO JAYNE POSTED ALSO IS VERY COOL.

I JUST ADORE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DARCIE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL ETERNALLY. ~i~

  8. Hi Darcie and Peter fans,

Thanks for sharing this post. I love this image. Thanks Mary! I have to share this funny story with my fellow Peter and Type O Negative fans. Yesterday I had a Robison oil guy over to my house to clean and check on my oil burner. At the end of my visit he asks who in the house is a Type O fan? I tell him both my husband and myself. He first mentions how he was also a fan and sad to hear of Peter's passing. Next he tells me how he lost partial hearing in his right ear after going to a Type O show in Long Island back in 1993. He said he was right next to the speaker. He wishes he had his hearing back but he said it was a cool show that he would never forget. He knew I was fan from the RIP Peter sticker on my back corner wind shield. Too funny! Peter would laugh if he heard that story. RIP Peter ---Jessica (Black Number 1)

p.s We plan on sharing some art with you all soon!

  10. I love Peters Brooklyn accent. I love it when people embrace their accents and dont try to hide it. Brooklyn always reminds me of Welcome Back Kotter. Mary that is a beautiful picture of Peter. Its sort of funny to see Peter the big tough manly man surrounded by flowers..but that was him. The Russian thing is really funny, anyone who could actually speak it must have been thinking, What the hell is he saying!.
