Sitting Back With Peter Steele ... Just Talking

This video might be a little too serious for all of you, but it illlustrates what a slightly serious conversation with Pete about the music business was like when he was alive. He bitches about reporters, he complains about mistakes they made with lawyers, he notes the meanings behind his music, who he was writing for and what inspired him most during the Carnivore/Retaliation days.

Throughout the piece you get a feeling for Pete's sarcasm and self-depreciating personality, but you have to listen for it ... Oh, and the audio is very low, so turn it up. It's about 15 minutes long, so while my posts are quick reads, this is not. Enjoy and Thank You for coming to our blog.

  5. weird timing, I JUST saw this clip 2 days ago while browsing youtube for Peter Steele stuff...anyways, I loved the candidness of this interview, the honesty and the very subtle way in which we get to see a glimpse of his mind. He is so interesting. One of my fav. parts, "people were terrified of me," driving that big truck! HAHA!! KATE: I also couldn't click on the link but I copied and pasted it into the address bar and it worked fine

  6. If you type the link into your address browser and just drop the "=related" at the end it will bring you right to it. It is also listed on youtube as "Peter Steele Type O Negative Interview 2003" on you tube.
I want to thank the family for all of these wonderful stories.
I remember reading an interview that Peter did where he talked about one Valentine's day when his father took him to the store and bought two boxes of chocolates for Nettie, one from him and one from Peter. I was wondering if you had any other cute stories about Peter and his father that you would be willing to share with us.
    Thank you again.

  10. I had seen this before but it is just so brilliant I was more than glad to watch it again. Peter's cool as a cucumber expression as he says the most outrageous things never fails to make me laugh. He was truly unique and so sharp, interviewing him must have been a journalist's dream/nightmare!
    thanks again for sharing!

  11. God I love this man.. such an intelligent & creative man with the BEST sense of humor & GORGEOUS to boot. I met him briefly back in 1998.. but what I wouldnt give to be able to sit down and have a conversation with him or just spend time with him. He was a gift to everyone is his presence.
