Good Things Come in Packages

This week, we received a few nice parcels.

One giant-sized package was from Eloise Thiery in France. She painted this picture of Peter in June 2004 and was gracious enough to send it to me for the family. I'm wondering if it might be a great idea to have a gallery showing of all the beautiful artwork and photos of Peter's fans. Maybe something to think about for his birthday. There are all these great gallery spaces in Dumbo Brooklyn. Maybe ... we'll see. Eloise, thank you for inspiring me

Also, Peter's sister Pat received letters of thanks from St. Christopher's Inn, Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Autism Speaks  for donations made in Peter's name. Thank you to "The Bands," "Theresa Macri," and an "anonymous" donor. Your thoughtfulness will help so many people and animals this year.

Also, this week, Peter's Tree was planted in Prospect Park:

  1. I JUST WANNA HUG THAT TREE!!! I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE PICTURES OF "HIM" IN FULL RED SPLENDOR NEXT FALL. IT IS PRETTY COOL HAVING SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO THAT NOW PRETAINS TO PETE'S LIFE WITH US HERE. AND IT IS REEEEEEEALLY NICE BEING A PART OF SUCH A GROUP OF BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO CAME TOGETHER AND MADE THIS HAPPEN. PETE MEANS THE WORLD TO SO MANY OF US AND IT WAS THE LEAST WE COULD DO TO SHOW OUR LOVE AND DEVOTION IN RETURN TO HIM.

LONG LIVE THE GREAT LORD RATAJCZYK!!!!

  7. Eloise, thanks for the painting. I love seeing peoples different styles and interpretations. Also as I have said on facebook.
Peters Tree is an amazing show of love from the people who loved him. It is in the best spot, grassland on one side and a spooky looking tunnel on the other ..what a perfect representation of Peters personality. Now with so many people joining the facebook page we should easily be able to raise the money for a bench and plaque.
Darcie thanks for putting a post up every so often for us still.

  10. A tree that looks at God all day and lifts her leafy arms to pray...Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree...joyce kilmer What a lovely gesture, a tree to last for generations.

  11. Awesome tree! It warms my heart that Peter has inspired people to donate to autism speaks. My five year old daughter has autism and I can't tell you what that means to parents of children with autism. Thank you Peter, thank you to those donating.

  15. Darcie, if you put anything up before christmas could you put this up with the new blog. I have had a few people ask me about Living The American Nightmare and how to get it. Pawl has said he is releasing a limited amount for the holidays. He didnt say where to order it from but I would say keep checking the LTAN website. Thats where I got mine from. Everyone make sure you look at the extras with Peter talking about the record signing and the Playgirl magazine...the way he rubs his face and laughs is really funny.

We lost my son's best friend David 4 yrs ago and he is resting under a tree as well. We see it periodically when we visit his grave. So hard to be there and not cry but knowing there is a tree growing in his honor helps. This tree in Peter's honor will also grow tall and strong like him. We put butterflies up in the tree limbs as it grew bigger recently. They remind us of David, he was a beautiful human being, a gift from above like Peter was. A gift from above for all of us to enjoy, love, honor and respect and who will never be forgotten. We miss you Peter each and every day. Still hard to believe. Much love and respect to your family and bandmates.

  19. This time of year, I always listen to Red Water: Christmas Mourning and think of those loved ones that passed away this year and inevitably now, I think of Peter; the special music he made, and the lasting memories he left us all with. I miss Peter, and I miss Type O Negative. I wish everyone a happy holiday season and make sure you crank up the Type O!

Hi I'm Rose - I have not seen my last comment come up yet so I'll send one last one. I wanted Peter's family, if you're still watching the messages occasionally, to know Peter will never be forgotten. The holidays are here, another one w/o your precious man in it. But remember please that those loved ones who pass on are never far away. Close your eyes, you see him, you feel him. There is life after death. I work with people who know that to be true. You must open your heart to it..because just because someone is not here physically, their energy and passion comtinues on. IN each of us. He lives thru you all. He lives on and on. He taught you all something valuable and wonderful, he had so much to give. Peter we love and miss you during this time of year and always. The holidays are not the same w/o you but know we feel you, we see you. You are never going away to us. Thank you for all you gave us, the music, the humor, the kindness, the spectacular example of what a human being is, complex, vulnerable, kind, sweet, talented beyond the moon..you are all you were a genius. Now i'll close with a prayer to you Peter..in heaven cause I know you are there...God please watch over Peter Steele, keep him safe and at peace. With that smile, those eyes, that presence, well he's a gem up there. A precious jewel to be valued and loved. We love you Peter. Stay close to your loved ones everyone, you never know when they will be gone but again...never to be forgotten. Love and peace Rose
